Google Drive Integration — Privacy

This page describes how GameView handles data accessed through Google APIs for its optional Google Drive integration. It supplements our general Privacy Policy. GameView is a digital-signage platform operated by GameView, a product of DTV Game Control.

1. What Google data we access

Connecting Google Drive is entirely optional. If you connect it, you authorize GameView to access your Google account using a single, read-only scope:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.readonly — read-only access to files in your Google Drive.

We also read your Google account's basic profile (email address) to display which account is linked.

2. How we use it

We use this access for a single purpose: to read image files from the specific Drive folder(s) you link to a signage playlist ("tapestry"), so that new or updated images in those folders sync into your GameView Asset Library and appear on your displays. Specifically, we:

Read the metadata and contents of image files in folders you explicitly link;
Store a copy of each linked image in your GameView Asset Library so it can be moderated, approved, edited, and shown on your screens;
Read each file's checksum to detect when a linked image was updated or removed.

We do not read files outside the folders you link, and we never write to, modify, or delete anything in your Drive. Access is read-only.

3. Limited Use disclosure

Google API Services User Data Policy

GameView's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Information obtained through Google APIs is used only to provide and improve the user-facing features described above; is not sold; is not used for advertising; is not transferred to others except as necessary to provide the service, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition; and is not read by humans unless we have your consent, it is necessary for security or to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and used for internal operations in accordance with applicable privacy and other laws.

4. Storage & security

Google OAuth tokens are stored server-side, encrypted, and are never exposed to the browser or to other customers. Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections and protected with access controls and industry-standard safeguards.

5. Retention & deletion

You can disconnect Google Drive at any time from the Google Drive page in your GameView account; disconnecting revokes GameView's access token and stops all syncing.
You may also revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Images already synced into your Asset Library remain until you delete them; you can remove them individually at any time.
On account closure or on request, we delete your stored Google user data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
